Surrey Food Bank "Share the Love" Sort-A-Thon

The Surrey Food Bank receives approximately 60% of their annual donations during the Christmas season.  The regular volunteers are extremely busy with hampers at that time of year and there are dozens of skids of food to be sorted.  The annual Sort-A-Thon is an event where teams compete to see who can sort the most number of skids in a 4-hour shift.  During the 3-day event, approximately 100 skids of food are sorted, clearing up a little of the backlog.  When we left on the 6th, we were in 1st place with 17 1/4 skids complete! Check out their website for information about volunteering or donations at www.surreyfoodbank.org .
